For the past couple of years, I’ve been dreaming of a simple way to give back during the holidays—and I’m so happy to finally share it with you.

Through AllyBee Flower Farm, I’m launching the Community Christmas Giving Program, bringing small potted plants to residents in our local long-term care homes, assisted living facilities, retirement residences, hospital, hospice, and home-care patients.

Each kalanchoe or Christmas cactus can be sponsored for $14, covering the plant, festive pot cover, gift bag, and card.

There’s no markup or profit—just a way to share kindness and connection.

Once sponsored, I’ll handle everything—from preparing each plant to personally delivering them so residents can enjoy a thoughtful holiday gift.

Our goal is 265 plants, enough for every resident at St. Joseph’s Manor, Huron Lodge, and Hillside Park Retirement Residence in Elliot Lake.

If we exceed that, we’ll include home-care and hospital patients too.

Having worked in home care for over 20 years, I’ve seen how powerful small gestures of care can be—especially during the holidays.
