Charlotte Parsons

Charlotte Parsons is a dedicated and driven student-athlete and dancer from Elliot Lake, Ontario. Now in Grade 10 at Elliot Lake Secondary School, she balances academics, athletics, and an intense dance schedule with focus and determination.

Charlotte is a company dancer at DanceWorks Dance Studio, where she is known for her strong work ethic and leadership within her team. She consistently pushes herself to refine her technique and elevate her performances, setting a positive example for her peers.

Her talent has opened doors on the international stage. In 2023, Charlotte was selected to represent Team Canada at the 2024 Dance World Cup in the tap discipline. Following that achievement, she earned additional invitations to compete in both a hip hop group and a small tap group at the same event, a reflection of her versatility and commitment.

In 2025, she expanded her experience even further as a member of the Five Star Dance Team, performing at The Fives Resort in the Mayan Riviera. This opportunity added a performance element in a professional resort setting, giving her valuable stage experience beyond competition.

Outside of dance, Charlotte is also active in sports. She plays on the ELSS Atoms basketball team, showing the same competitiveness and team-first mindset that she brings to dance.

Charlotte continues to take part in multiple competitions across Ontario each season, performing in several group routines and solo pieces while preparing for high-level international events. To help support the costs associated with these opportunities, she contributes to fundraising efforts, including selling items through this site.

When she finds time away from the studio and court, Charlotte enjoys working with horses and exploring liberty training, adding another layer to her connection with movement and discipline.

Charlotte’s schedule is full, but it reflects her passion. Whether on stage, on the court, or in the community, she brings energy, focus, and a quiet confidence that continues to grow with every opportunity she earns.

Dancers are selected in various disciplines at dance competitions and rehearsals across Canada.

The 2024 Dance World Cup will be hosted in Prague, Czech Republic.

Charlotte will be participating in a large tap group, a large hip hop group and a small tap group. She trained and qualified for each dance and discipline. As a member of Team Canada, Charlotte trains weekly in Elliot Lake and travels to Toronto approximately every two months to rehearse with her dance team. In late June 2024, the entire team will come together from across Canada for a full stage rehearsal prior to departing for Prague.

Charlotte's Fundraising

Like any sport, competitive dance has associated costs for entry, gear and travel. Attending the Dance World Cup only increases that amount...a lot!

The anticipated cost for Charlotte to participate with Team Canada is approximately $15,000. This includes:

  • Travel to Toronto for eight rehearsal sessions.
  • Team Canada fees for choreography and coaching.
  • Fees for dance entry fees, costumes and mandatory Team Canada apparel.
  • Flight and travel related costs.

To help offset these costs, Charlotte is fundraising in a few creative ways. She is selling Elliot Lake CalendarsElliot Laker Apparel and will be helping her mother with specific flower arrangements.
